About International C-PROM
International Competitive Programming & Multimedia Competition (International C-PROM) is a competition organized annually by the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, UiTM Perlis Branch. The competition is open to both local and international students from universities and institutions of higher learning.
Since 2011, the International C-PROM has been a successful platform to elevate talents and to instil interest of students in the field of programming and multimedia. This competition was initially organized only for UiTM Perlis Branch students to compete among them.
Starting in 2017, C-PROM has been opening its door for participants from other local and international universities. In 2017 and 2018, we have received entries from several universities such as Brunei, Thailand and Indonesia. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, in 2021, we successfully organized the 1st virtual International C-PROM2021 where we received participants from within local and international.
International C-PROM 2022
IC-PROM 2022 maintaining the same concept of a virtual competition format, we offer online submission of entries, and the results will be notified online to the winners. The winners will be invited to an exclusive online prize-giving ceremony to celebrate their achievements. With this, we would like to invite students from various local and international universities to participate and show off their programming and multimedia skills in our competition!

Training Workshops
Only registered participants will receive invitations for the training workshops. There are two types of workshops that will be conducted:
Programming Workshop
There is more to programming than simply writing lines of code. Programming and competitive programming are two different aspects of the same coin. Competitive programming urges a coder to constantly think about the problem they are trying to resolve. There are two major aspects to prepare for competitive programming:
This workshop will help aspiring participants to prepare better for any coding competitions.
Topics Covered:
- How to solve coding problems online?
- How is code evaluated automatically?
- Live example of problem solving in different languages
- How to prepare for a coding competition?
Format:
The workshop will be a mixture of PowerPoint presentations and hands-on practical exercises using the C++, Java and Python programming language
Prerequisites:
- Basic computer skills will be assumed.
- Prior knowledge of C++, Python and Java is necessary.
Multimedia Workshop
Video editing is the most important aspect of video post-production. It entails media management, digital file and project organisation, video footage compression, and the use of Non-Linear Editing Software to assemble, cut, and refine raw video footage.
Video editing is crucial because it allows us to seamlessly combine sounds and pictures to feel emotionally involved and occasionally actually present in the movie we are viewing. It is safe to assume that one of the most crucial tasks in the film industry is video editing.
The workshop aims:
- To allow participants to know how to edit video and produce quality videos with simple editing tool.
- To allow participants to have the required skillset to produce videos for any events.
- To allow participants to understand the different types of videos required in different settings such YouTube, marketing, events etc.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Edit their own videos
- Add transition to their video
- Add captions to their video
- Add music to the video
- Export video to put on social media
